Crochet
I’ve tried crochet a few times. The first time was pretty unsuccessful. The second time was better but I lacked interesting patterns to work from so quickly lost interest. This time I found a great site with loads of good ideas and it’s turned out pretty well. It probably helps that I’ve had a lot more time on my hands to really concentrate on it.

Why start with something simple when you can start with something complicated? So a dragon it is. I love dragons. His name is Winnie. He has pipe cleaners in his wings and legs so they can be positioned were you want them.
Exterminate! Exterminate!
Who doesn’t love Dr Who? The pattern was supposed to be an egg cosy. I didn’t need an egg cosy but liked the idea of having my own Dalek so I stuffed it and crocheted a bottom. I stared thinking about altering patterns then, So far I’d followed them to the letter. How could I make my Dalek better?

By adding some detail to the stalks and lights on the top 🙂 They don’t actually light up, adding electronics to crochet will have to be a project for another day.
Thought i’d make something small and easy. A bat.

I posted these pictures on Facebook and ended up making a whole army of Daleks, dragons and bats to send to friends and family as presents to try and help keep people cheerful during difficult times.
I then made a collection of animals, baby Groot who happens to be the perfect size to attach to my rucksack and come on adventures and a rainbow mermaid. This was another pattern adaption, I’m particularly pleased with the hair.
